Intruder Alarms
Intruder
Alarm systems come in all shapes and sizes, so it’s no mean feat to
design and install one that is both reliable and cost effective. Yet
that’s exactly what Abatis Fire & Security Ltd do. There are many
products out there, some rely on their aesthetics, others on their price.
But while the systems appearance
and cost is crucial, so too is the products ability to do its job. Much
of this depends upon the specific environment and how the system will
be used.
This is where our expertise
fits in, whether your property is domestic, commercial, retail or industrial,
Abatis Fire & Security Ltd will not provide quotes over the phone.
At the point of enquiry, we will arrange for a site survey to take place,
at a time of your convenience. Whilst on site, our surveyor will design
an appropriate system for you. Our surveyor will take lots of things
into consideration, including the risk of burglary for example or in
the case of higher risk applications, the need for remote signalling
and police response along with any requirements specified by the insurance
company if appropriate.
All systems will comply with
the requirements of:
- National Security Inspectorate
- PD6662:2004
- BS7671
- DD243: 2004 (Where Police response is required)
Types of system
With the withdrawal of BS4737 and the Implementation of BS EN50131,
the UK introduced document PD6662:2004. The latest standards call up
the need to carry our risk assessments as part of the proposals. As
part of this, Intruder Alarms need to be appropriately “Graded” in terms
of their risk. Generally speaking, this will determine the type of system
proposed. Loosely speaking the grades are accepted as being as follows:
Grade 1. Lowest Risk
Grade 2. Low to medium risk
(most domestic properties)
Grade 3. Medium to high
risk (most commercial properties)
Grade 4. Highest Risk
Here at Abatis we avoid the DIY market place
as we know that a reliable system is essential to our customers. That
is why we only use certified equipment and trained, qualified engineers.

on the market, but we believe it to be the best. In conclusion, pets
are not a problem!
Aren’t Wireless Systems
a waste of time?
A few years ago, we’d have agreed. But time has moved on and so has
the technology. While we’ll still recommend a wired system, where wireless
is required we are happy to fit the new generation of professional wireless
intruder alarm for homes and low risk business premises.
Simple to use!!
We
won’t leave you until you’ve grasped the use of your alarm system. The
equipment we use is simple to use and can support several methods of
arming and disarming the system. There’s nothing to worry about when
using your alarm system.
