
Service and Maintenance
Once a decision has been made to purchase a fire or security system, you might forget about having it regularly maintained or what happens if it goes wrong. At Abatis Fire & Security Ltd, all installations are packaged with annual preventative maintenance ensuring ongoing response to the system after the warranty period expires. Whatever system you have, this means that you’re guaranteed response from our emergency engineer service.
So What Do We Offer?
Domestic Intruder Alarms
For our domestic customers, we provide a choice of cover levels and a flexible approach to payment with an option to pay for comprehensive cover by standing order. We offer three levels of cover:
- The basic cover provides for a single preventative maintenance visit per year. While customers on this level are guaranteed a response by our out of hour’s engineers should they need it, all faults and call outs remain chargeable.
- Intermediate cover provides the added benefit of having any faults found at the time of the service visit replaced without charge (exclusions and terms and conditions apply).
- Comprehensive Cover provides the benefits of basic and intermediate but also benefits from all faults due to fair wear and tear being covered without any charges (exclusions and terms and conditions apply)
Non Domestic Intruder Alarms
Non domestic customers benefit from ongoing quality cover at differing rates dependant upon method of notification. Particularly pertinent during routine service visits, is the verification of remote signalling paths.
Remotely signalled systems (Police Response) require 2 service visits per annum, while audible only systems require one. Where it is a requirement of your insurance company, failure to have this carried out could result in invalidating insurance cover.
Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting
The Fire Safety Order requires emergency systems to be regularly maintained by a competent person, and Abatis Fire & Security Ltd provide this. We will provide preventative and diagnostic maintenance and testing to these systems in accordance with the relevant standards ensuring your compliance with the law. It is crucial to ensure emergency systems will operate under emergency situations and Abatis Fire & Security Ltd provide this peace of mind for you.
Access Control and Intercom
Abatis provides preventative maintenance to these systems to ensure the equipment continues to function to its maximum performance levels. We undertake routine inspection, testing and diagnostics of these systems, carrying out repairs where necessary, and bringing you up to date on any software or legislation that may apply
CCTV
The CCTV Code of Practice and Home Office advice calls on CCTV systems to be regularly maintained by approved contractors such as Abatis. We undertake routine inspection, testing and diagnostics of these systems, carrying out repairs where necessary, and bringing you up to date on any software or legislation that may apply
REPAIR OF EXISTING SYSTEMS (including third party installations)
We can undertake the takeover, repair and upgrade of all third party systems (providing you own the equipment) and then provide ongoing maintenance.
Perhaps you need an upgrade for insurance reasons? Maybe the system you have is old and out of date? Or causing excessive unexplained false alarms or faults? Maybe you’re a business that needs your system to be remotely monitored? Or to take into account modifications or alterations to your premises?
We don’t have to have installed the system to make it work better or to work at all. Our engineers are highly trained on many different control panels and detection devices, CCTV and access control eqiuipment.
Emergency call outs
However good the kit is that we fit, and however well we fit it, invariably, from time to time, electronic systems can and do go wrong. When they do, nothing is worse than finding out that you can’t get anyone to attend to help. Being a customer of ours with a contract ensures this response is guaranteed, and where charges do apply they are at our preferred price list rates.
Customers not in a contract with us will still get a response (ID may be required) but this will be at a lower level of priority (contracted customers come first) and at higher rates. We believe it’s the fair way to run our emergency call out service.
